A great blend of Indian Culture & International Norms

The school is thriving & constantly striving to innovate. There is an emphasis on academics but a very good blend of the extra curricular which offers a gamut ranging from the traditional to the modern. A holistic platform for all round development!

While the classrooms are neat, clean, bright & airy (East Coast Campus) - they could do with an upgrade. Student to teacher ratio should be maintained.

Our son moved to GIIS, from a Montessori school, in grade 1. He is now in grade 3. The teachers were very encouraging & were closely monitoring his progress ensuring he was able to make the transition easily. There was definitely a jump in the level - in terms of writing, comprehension, & grammar. I am very happy with my son's progress, his grades & his exposure to Indian culture through history lessons, projects on our leaders, festivals, cultural norms & practices. He gets to choose Cricket, Tabla, Hindustani Classic Vocals & be taught basic Sanskrit with Hindi as his second language. In his formative years it's great to be able to expose him to the Indian educational system, with a strong grounding, with the pluses of an international school thrown in. We feel the school has met with our expectations & exceeded some with their constant evolution, introduction of new worldly-wise programmes, inter & intra-school events, sports opportunities & a gamut of extra curricular activities. As Indian parents we want to be able to root our son & establish his sense of self which is largely his "Indian Identity" & yet equip him with the expertise to handle the "Global Citizen" phenomenon - GIIS is a great place to start!! :-)
